We know that Work = Force × Displacement

If there is no displacement of Stone then

Work = Force × 0

⇒Work = 0 Joule

So even of there is he exerts force . the stone does not move and so despite his efforts to move the stone , he gets tired.

There is no work done as work done = force * displacement

And there is no displacement

He gets tired as he is using up his energy even though there is no displacement in the position of the object

Welcomee!! Hope I helped
