A man is walking at a speed of 10 km/hour. After every kilometer he takes rest for 5 min. How much time will be taken to cover a distance of 5 km?​

50 minutes

Time taken in covering 5 km = \frac{5}{10} = \frac{1}{2}\ hour = 30\ minutes

That person will take rest for four times.

∴ Required time = (30 + 4 \times 5) minutes = 50 minutes.

If he takes 1 hour to complete 10 kms then it will take him 60/10 minutes or 6 minutes to complete 10/10 or 1 km.

So lets say it takes him 11 minutes to complete 1 km.  So it will take him 44 minutes to cover 4kms. Now it will take him 6 more minutes to cover 5 kms.

So 44 + 6 = 50
