Given :-

  • Speed of a man, v = 9 km/h
  • After every km he takes rest for 9 minutes.

To Find :-

  • The time taken by him to cover a distance of 27 km.

Solution :-

If he did not stops, time taken by him is :

☛  \sf{t = \dfrac{27\:km}{9\:km/hr} }=3\: hr=180\: min}

The number of stops in his journey is given by :

☛  \sf{n = \dfrac{27}{1} }-1=26}

He takes a rest for 9 min. So, total delay in 26 stops = (26 × 9) minutes = 234 minutes.

Total time to cover the distance is :

➩  T = 180 min + 234 min

➩  T = 414 min

➩  T = 6.9 hours
