Answer:

distance traveled = circumference/2

=πr

displacement = 2r

speed = d/t = 7π/60 (60 for si units)

velocity = ∆x/t = 14/60=7/30

Speed = 11/30 m/s

Velocity = 7/30 m/s

Explanation:

Given:

  • Measure of radius of circular path is 7 m.
  • Time taken by man to complete half the circle is 1 minute.

To Find:

  • What is the speed and displacement ?

Solution: Diameter of circle will be

➟ Diameter = 2(Radius)

➟ D = 2(7) = 14 m ( this will be also displacement of man )

Distance covered by man in 1 minute is half of the circle i.e half of perimeter.

➟ Distance covered = Semi-Perimeter of circle

➟ Distance = πr

➟ Distance = 22/7(7) = 22 m.

[ 1 minute = 60 seconds ]

As we know that

Speed = Distance/Time

Velocity = Displacement/Time

\implies{\rm } Speed = 22/60

\implies{\rm } Speed = 11/30 m/s

Hence, speed of man is 11/30 m/s.

Now finding his velocity

\implies{\rm } Velocity = 14/60

\implies{\rm } Velocity = 7/30 m/s

Hence, velocity of man is 7/30 m/s.
