Given,

Wife got 1/2 of the man's property.

Son got 1/3 of the man's property.

Remaining share is given to the daughter which has a value of rs. 5000

To find,

Total amount of the property. Amount of wife's share and amount of son's share.

Solution,

Let,the total amount of property = rs. x

So, wife got = x × ½ = rs. x/2

And, son got = x × ⅓ = rs. x/3

Remaining property = {x-(x/2+x/3)} = (x-5x/6) = rs. x/6

Now,if we compare the value of the remaining property that we have calculated and the value of the remaining property that is given in the question,then we will get the following mathematical equation,

x/6 = 5000

x = 30000

Total property = rs. 30000

Wife got = 30000 × ½ = rs. 15000

Son got = 30000 × ⅓ = rs. 10000

Hence,the total property of the man is rs.30000.The wife and the son got rs. 15000 and rs. 10000 respectively.
