Answer:

  • Work done in lifting load is 274.4 Joules against the gravity.

Solution:

Given

  • Mass of load, m = 20 kg
  • Load is lifted from Ground
  • Height to which load is lifted, h = 1.4 m from ground
  • Let, us take acceleration due to gravity, g = -9.8 m/s²

( Negative g because work is done against the gravity )

To find

  • Work done by Man, W =?

Solution

Since,

Work done would be equal to the potential energy gained on lifting the load

→ Work done = Potential energy gained

→ Work done = m g h

[ where m is mass, g is acceleration due to gravity, h is height ]

→ Work done = ( 20 ) × ( -9.8 ) × ( 1.4 )

Work done = -274.4 J

Therefore,

  • Work done in lifting the load is 274.4 Joules against the gravity.

Answer:

work done= FORCE * DISPLACEMENT

multiply the weight of the load with 1.4m ...

you will get your answer.

don't forget to put the units correctly
