Let the original ammount be x

after losing 20% he will be having

(1 - 0.2) = 0.8x

After spending 25%,

he will be having 480 rupees

0.8x × (1 - 0.25) = 480

x = 480/0.6

x = 800

\huge\green{\underbrace{\overbrace{\ulcorner{\mid{\overline{\underline{ANSWER}}}}}}}

Let the amount of money initially with a man be x

Given,

20% of x => (20/100)×x= 0.2x lost

Remaining Amount = 1 - 0.2x = 0.8x

25% of 0.8x had spent by him

= (25/100)×0.8x

= (1/4)×(8x/10)

= (2x/10)

= 0.2x

Remaining Amount = 0.8x - 0.2x

= 0.6x

Given that this amount is equal to the amount of money left with him

0.6x = 480

=> 6x = 4800

=> x = 800

Therefore Initially man had Rs: 800/-
