Let the original amount be x.

After losing 20%, he will be having (1-0.2) = 0.8x.

After spending 25% he will be having 480 rupees

0.8x * (1-0.25) = 480

x = 480/0.6

= 800.

HEY MATE ! HERE IS THE SOLUTION FOR YOUR QUESTION.

Let the man had Rs. x

First, 20% of x

= 20x/100 = x/5

Now, Again

25% of (x-x/5)

= 25% of 4x/5

= 25/100 * 4x/5

= 100x/500

= x/5

A/Q :--

x/5 + x/5 = 480

x+x/5 = 480

2x/5 = 480

x = 480 *5/2

x = 1200

Hence, the man had totally Rs. 1200.
