Answer:simple logic without any formula

If he had 100 - 20 - 80 - 40

Now first write 480 under 40 then multiply how 40 became 480 to all other no.s towards left.

Again I'll write all as above and will do.

100 - 20 - 80 - 40

1200-240-960-480

Means I want to multiply 12 to 40 to get 480.

Now multiply all other no.s with 12. So under 100 is my answer, that is 1200.

Logic. If I had 100 Rs. Now left is 40.

Answer is the multiple of 100 which makes 40 into 480
