Given:

Someone loses 20% on cost.

To Find:

Now we have to find how much does this represent on sales

Solution:

Let, Cost Price = 300C

a Man Losses 20% on cost

=> Man losses = (20 / 100) * 300C

= 60C

Selling Price is (300C - 60C) = 240C

Loss 60C on selling price 240C

= (60C/240C) * 100

=  100/4

= 25 %

Therefore, a 20 % loss in Cost represents a 25 % loss in Sales.
