A man loses 20 percent of his money . After spending 25 percent of the remainder he is left with RS 540 . How much did he originally have?

Let the amount he originally has is x.

Given that he loses 20% = 0.8x.

Given that 25% of the remainder = 0.75.

0.8x * 0.75 = 540

0.6x = 540

x = 900.

The amount he originally had = 900 rupees.
