3-2=1 km due east

(1+7)-5=3 km due east

therefore his final position is 3 km due east

total distance travelled=3+2+7+5=17 km

Answer:

Total distance travelled by him is 17 Kms.

Given:

A man moves 3 km due east, then 2 km due west, then 7 km due east and then 5 km due  West.

To find:

The final position of the man after he completed his journey. Also, find the

total distance travelled.

Solution:

First he moves 3 km east, then 2 km west, then 7 km due east and then 5 km due  west .

Total distance travelled by him = 3 + 2 + 7 + 5 = 17 kms.

And his final position is 3 km east from his starting point.
