A man moves 4m along east directon then 3m along north direction after that he climb up a pole to height 12m. Find the distance covered by him and his displacement?

here's ur answer....
first, the man moves 4m along East direction and then 3m along north direction. it formed a right angle triangle.
let the base be 4m and height be 3m
by Pythagoras theorem :-
= √(4²+3²)
= √(16+9)
= √25
= 5m
after going to North direction, the man climbs up a pole of height 12m. again it formed a right angle triangle and now the hypotenuse is the displacement.
now let the base be 5m and height be 12m.
by Pythagoras theorem :-
displacement = √(5²+12²)
= √(25+144)
= √169
= 13
hence, total distance covered by him = 3 + 4 + 12 = 19m and displacement = 13m
