A man moves along a square field of side 10 m. If he takes 8 seconds to complete one round,
what will be the distance covered and displacement after 40 s

required distance = 200 m and displacement = 0

         

Explanation:

Side of square field a = 10 m

Distance covered in one round = perimeter

                                                     = 4a

                                                     = 40 m

Number of rounds in 40 s = (40/8) = 5 rounds

∴ Distance covered in 40 s = 40 x 5 = 200 m

In 40 s after 5 rounds the particle reaches the initial position.

∴ displacement in 40 s = 0
