Net force on system (man + plank) = 100N
Acceleration = F/ Total mass = 100/ 100+50 = 100/150 = 2/3m/s²
Force on plank is 100N in forward direction and friction (f) is in backward direction , ∴ net force on plank = ma
F - f = 100 x 2/3
f = F - 100 x 2/3
f = 100 - 302/3
f = - 2/3
f = - 0.66 N
