Given:

  • Mass of man = 50 kg.
  • Area of each feet = 40 cm².

To find:

  • Pressure exerted on floor ?

Calculation:

Pressure is a scalar quantity characterized by the perpendicular force distributed per unit area of surface.

Pressure =  \dfrac{force}{area}

 \implies Pressure =  \dfrac{mg}{2 \times (feet \: area)}

 \implies Pressure =  \dfrac{50 \times 10}{2 \times  \dfrac{40}{ {10}^{4} } }

 \implies Pressure =  \dfrac{5 \times  {10}^{5} }{8 }

 \implies Pressure =  6.25 \times  {10}^{4} \: Pa

So, pressure on floor is 6.25 × 10 Pascal.
