Given :  A man of mass 50 kg slowly climbs a vertical height of 3600 m in 1 hour.

g = 10 m/s²

To Find : The average power expended by the man against gravity

Solution:

Work Done = mgh

m = 50 kg

g = 10 m/s²

h = 3600 m

Work Done = 50 * 10 * 3600

= 1800000  Joule

Power  = Work Done / time

Time = 1 hr = 3600 sec

Power   = 1800000/3600  J/s

=  500 J/s

= 500W

The average power expended by the man against gravity = 500W

Answer:

Work Done = mgh

m = 50 kg

= 10 m/s² g=

h = 3600 m

Work Done = 50 * 10 * 3600

= 1800000 Joule

Power = Work Done / time

Time 1 hr = 3600 sec

Power = 1800000/3600 J/s

= 500 J/s

= 500W.

The average power expended by the man against gravity = 500W.
