Question:

A man owned 19 camels, he died. Before death he made a will that 50% should go to his son, 25% to his daughter and 2/5 to his servant. How should this be divided?

Solution:

I was told about this question long time back. A good samaritan who was passing through a village faced this question from a family whose Head breathed his last. Thus the good samaritan who was travelling on his camel came to their rescue and solved it as below. Along with 19 camels he also included his camel along with that19 camels. Thus it became 20 camels.

50% of 20 camels ( for Son) = 10

25% of 20 camels( for Daughter) = 5

1/5 out of 20 camels( for Servant) = 4

Thus total 19 camels.

The good samaritan took his camel and walked away.

Please note :It is 1/5 servent and not 2/5 to the servant us given in the question.
