The first man :

Let the initial charge be c.

The charge for the kilometers traveled is :

160 - C

Charge per kilometer is :

(160 - C) /10

Second man

The initial charge = 2 C

The total charge for the kilometers traveled is :

276 - 2C

Charges per kilometer is :

(276 - 2C) / 16

Since charges per kilometer are equal we equate the two:

(160 - C) /10 = (276 - 2C) / 16

16(160 - C) = 10(276 - 2C)

2560 - 16C = 2760 - 20C

-16C + 20C = 2760 - 2560

4C = 200

C = 50

Charges per km is :

(160 - 50) / 10

110 /10 = 11

11 per km
