Force in x- direction is

Fcosø=Fx

Fcos30=mAx

10×3^1/2/=10.4 Ax

Ax(acceleration jn horizontal direction)=1.66m/sec^2

Answer:

The magnitude of the acceleration is 2.08m/s².

Explanation:

The force will only act in the horizontal direction. Which is given as,

F_x=Fcos\theta         (1)

Where,

F_x=force acting in the horizontal direction=ma

F=force inclined to the horizontal

θ=angle on the inclined plane with the horizontal

From the question we have,

Mass of the suitcase(m)=10.4kg

Force inclined to the horizontal(F)=25N

θ=30°

By substituting the values in equation (1) we get;

F_x=25\times cos30\textdegree

10.4\times a=21.65

a=\frac{21.65}{10.4}

a=2.08m/s^2

Hence, the magnitude of the acceleration is 2.08m/s².
