Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

the price of 1 kg apples be x rupees

the price of 1 kg orange be y rupees

so

3x + y = 3500 ---- eq 1

x + 3y =4800 -------eq 2

by elimination method ..we get

3(3x+y=3500) = 9x+3y= 10500

1(x+3y=4800) =x+3y=4800

9x + 3y = 10500

x + 3y = 4800

________________

8x = 5700

x=5700/8 = 712.5 rupees

similarly, for y:-

puyting value of x in eq 2

we get

712.5+3y =4800

3y= 4800 - 712.5

y = 4087.5/3

y= 1362.5 rupees

ANSWER:-

COST OF 1 KG APPLES IS 712.5 RUPEES.

COST OF 1 KG ORANGES IS 1362.5 RUPEES.

HOPE IT HELPS !!

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I WENT WRONG ANYWHERE...
