Answer:

let the no. of oreanges be x

he purchased 2 oranges at the rate of 5 = 5/2x

and 3 oranges for 8=  8/3x

progit he gain = 20rs

therefore 8/3x - 5/2x = 20

                1/6x=20

                 1x = 20*6

                  x= 120

therfore= no. of oranges he bought = 120
