Given:-

• A man purchased some eggs at 3 for ₹16 and sold them at 5 for ₹36.

• He gained ₹168 in all.

To Find:-

How many eggs did he purchased?

Solution:-

Let the no. of eggs bought be = x

Now, CP = ₹(16/3*x) = 16x/3

SP = ₹ (36/3*x) = 36x/5

∴ CP of 15x = 16/5 = ₹80

  ⠀SP of 15 eggs = 36 × 3 = ₹108

SP ⇝ CP

∴ Gain = SP - CP = 108-80

  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀  ⠀⇝ ₹28

No of eggs = 168/28*15 = 42*15/7

  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀➳ 6 × 15

  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⟹ 90 eggs. ✔
