Answer:
No of eggs a man purchased for Rs.16 = 3
No of eggs the man sold for Rs.36= 5
In order to know the S.P and C.P, we have to find the cost of 1 egg
So, 16/3= Rs.5.33 or Rs.5.3 ( This is the C.P )
36/5= Rs.7.50 or 7.5 ( This is the S.P since it is mentioned that he sold 5 eggs for Rs.36)
We know that,
If the S.P is greater than the C.P, it is a profit
Since the s.p here is greater than the c.p, the man got a profit.
Profit= S.P - C.P = 7.50-5.33= Rs 2.27
Profit % = profit/c.p × 100 = 2.27/5.33× 100= 42.58% which will be 42.6% if we round it off
