Here's your Answer.....

Given;

The man purchased fruits for Rs. 1000.

And sold fruits worth Rs. 400 at 10% profit or Rs. 440.

left is fruits worth Rs. 600.

To get an overall profit of 20% he has to sell the fruit at 120% of Rs. 1000/- or Rs. 1200/-

So since he's already made Rs. 440/-, he needs to sell the rest of the fruit at Rs. 1200 - 440 or 760.

So, the profit percentage he needs to make for the second lot is :

100 × (760 - 600 )/600  = 26.67%.

Answer

The man purchased fruits for Rs. 1000/-

And sold fruits worth Rs. 4oo at 10% profit or Rs. 440 /-

What he has left is fruits worth Rs. 600/-

To get an overall profit of 20% he has to sell the fruit at 120% of Rs. 1000/- or Rs. 1200/-

So since he's already made Rs. 440/-, he needs to sell the rest of the fruit at Rs. 1200 - 440 or 760.

So the profit percentage he needs to make for the second lot is :

100 * (760 - 600 )/600  = 26.67%
