A man purchases a certain number of apples at 5 per rupee and same no. at 4 per rupee. He mixes them together and sells them at 4 per rupee. What is his gain or loss%?

for first variety he buys at 5 per rupee i. e. for 100 oranges price will be (100/5)*1=20

for second variety he buys ay 4 per rupee i. e. for 100 oranges price will be (100/4)*1=25

total oranges =200

total C. P= 20+25=45

now he mix both and sells them at 4 per rupee for 200 oranges S.P will be (200/4)*1=50

selling price is more than cost price therefore it is gain

gain=50-45=5

gain%= (5/45)*100= 11.11%
