A man pushes a cart with a constant force of ,100 N. Frictional force of 40 N acts on it.Find the distance travelled by it in 5 seconds . The body was at rest

Given :-

Force acting on the body = F1 = 100 N

Frictional Force on the body = F2 = 40 N

Time = t = 5 s

Initially body is at rest,

u = 0 ms-¹

Net force acting on the body,

F = F1 + F2

F = 100 - 40

F = 60 N

Gravitational force is acting on the body,

g = 10 ms-²

S = 1/2 gt²

S = 1/2 × 10 × 5 × 5

S = 5³

S = 125 m.

Hence,

Distance covered by body = S = 125 m.
