Given :- A man received Rs. 0.9549207 crores by selling his three-bedroom flat. What is the minimum amount of money that should be added to it, so that it can be divided among his 4 children equally, using only Rs. 2000 notes?

(A) 1

(B) 793

(C) 1207

(D) 2793

Answer :-

→ Money received by man = Rs. 0.9549207 crores = 0.9549207 * 10000000 = Rs.95,49,207

now, this amount is divided among 4 childrens equally using only 2000 notes .

so, Let x amount is added .

then,

→ (9549207 + x) / 4 = 2000 * n

or, we can say that,

→ (9549207 + x)/ 4 * 2000 = Remainder 0

→ (9549207 + x) / 8000 = Remainder 0

for this last three digits must be zero, and then next 3 digits must be divisible by 8,

checking options,

  • 9549207 + 1 ≠ 0 in last => incorrect .
  • 9549207 + 793 = 9550000 => 9550 / 8 ≠ Remainder 0 .
  • 9549207 + 1207 ≠ 0 in last => incorrect .
  • 9549207 + 2793 = 9552000 => 9552/8 = Remainder 0 .

therefore, the minimum amount added will be Rs.2793 (Option D).
