I can safely assume 110cc scooter means CVT scooters, and long distance means upto 300kms(more than that is not good for gearless ones). Now on to, long distance being bad idea. Scooter engine sits in a closed area (beneath your seat) covered three sides. So air flow is not very good, which is essential during long drives. Scooters were not meant to be driven long distance. Even using common logic, you can also see, that sitting with opened throttle for long distance is pretty boring and undramatic.
That said, there are exceptions here also. I have seen many doing good distance on scoots albeit with slight mods. Hell they even stunt on these.
If you are planning to do good distance on road, I would suggest to go for bikes. They also return good mileage than scoots and are cost effective in the long run.
