a man riding on a bicycle covers a distance of 60 km in the direction of the wind and comes back to its original place in 8hrs. If speed of wind is 10km/hr find the speed of bicycle

x=20km/h

Letr speed of bicyle be x

Upstream = x-10

downstream= x+10

GIven Time to travel 60km downstream and return back = 8hours

60/(x+10)+60/(x-10)=8

On solving, x= -5 or x=20

Speed cannot be negative so x=20km/h
