A man rupees loan of Rs 3250 piping rupees 20 in the first month and then increased the payment by rupees 15 every month how long will take him to clear the loan in answer

Loan= 3250

first month= 20

loan left= 3250-20=3230

increased monthly charge= 20+15= 35

therefore, Time required for loan to complete=3230/35=9.428..months

This question can be done by considering it an AP(Arithmetic Progression) with first term(a) = 20 and common difference(d) = 15. And the loan ammount of 3250 can be thought as the sum 0f AP.

Sum of AP = n(2*a+(n-1)*d)/2

here n is number of terms ini AP which is number of months in this case

hence

3250 = n(2*20 + (n-1)*15)/2

on Simplifying this equation becomes

3*n^2 + 5*n - 1300=0

solving the above quadratic we get 20 and -21.666

since number of month can NOT be negetive

answer is 20 Months
