Let the age of son be x and the age of man be 4x.

After 16 years the son age = x + 16 and the father's age = 4x + 16.

Given, father's age will be double the son's age = 4x + 16 = 2(x + 16)

                                                                                  2x = 16

                                                                                    x = 8.

Then the age of father will be = 4 * 8

                                                   = 32.

Hope this helps!
