Let the sum of ages of the three children be x

Age of man = 4 times the sum of ages of the three children = 4 * x = 4x

Sum of ages of three children = x + 8 + 8 + 8 = (x + 24) years

Age of man in 8 years = (4x + 8) years

Given

Age of man in 8 years = Twice the sum of their ages in 8 years

⇒ 4x + 8 = 2(x + 24)

⇒ 4x + 8 = 2x + 48

⇒ 4x - 2x = 48 - 8

⇒ 2x = 40

⇒ x = 40/2

⇒ x = 20

i.e Sum of ages of three children = 20 years

Age of man = 4x = 4(20) = 80 years

Therefore the age of man is 80 years.
