Given : A man's age is three times the sum of ages of his two sons.

After 5 years, his age will be twice the sum of ages of his two sons.

To Find : Age of the man.

Solution:

Age of Son1  = A  Years

Age of Son2  = B  Years

Age of Man =  M Years

man's age is three times the sum of ages of his two sons.

=> M = 3( A + B)

After 5 years Age of Son1  = A + 5   Years

Age of Son2  = B  + 5 Years

Age of Man =  M + 5  Years

After 5 years, his age will be twice the sum of ages of his two sons.

=> (M + 5) = 2(A + 5 + B + 5)

=> M + 5 = 2(A + B)  + 20

=> M =  2(A + B)  + 15

3( A + B)  =   2(A + B)  + 15

=> (A + B) = 15

M = 3( A + B)

=> M = 3(15)

=> M = 45

Age of Man = 45 Years
