A man's present age is 8 times his son's age. 12 years later he
will be 28 years older than his son. What are the present ages of the
father and son?​

man's age be x...

son's age be y...

x = 8y (i)

12 + x =28 + (12 + y) (ii)

12 + 8y = 28 + 12 + y ( substitute value of x as 8y from (i) in (ii) )

7y = 28

y = 4

x = 8(4) = 32

man's age be 32 years...

son's age be 4 years...
