Answer: By optional math's sequence and series;

1st year(a)=?

difference in money(d)= 100

10th year= 16500

now,

10th year= a+(n-1)d

16500= a + (10-1) * 100

16500= a+ 900

a = 16500-900

a=15600

hence, at the first year he had Rs. 15600
