To Find:-

The price of the television

Given:-

The price of selling 6 radios and 4 television is 18480.

The price of selling 14 radios and 2 television is 18480.

Solution:-

Let the radio be x

Let the television be y

A.T.Q we have,

6x + 4y = 18480

Dividing it by 2 we get,

3x + 2y = 9240__________(1)

14x + 2y = 18480_________(2)

Using (1) and (2) we get,

14x + 2y = 18480

3x + 2y = 9240

_____________

11x = 9240

x = 9240/11

x = 840

we got the price of radio as 840.

Now,

Putting the value of x in eq(1) we get,

3(840) + 2y = 9240

2520 + 2y = 9240

2y = 9240 - 2520

2y = 6720

y = 6720/2

y = 3360

we got y as 3360.

Therefore,

The price of Television = 3360.

Note : This is elimination method. This problem can also be done through substitution and cross multiplication method.
