C.P = x
gain = 5 %
S.P = x+(5/100)x
= x+(1/20)x
= (21/20)x
----------------------------
Now if S.P were to be ₹490 less , then ;
S.P = (21/20)x - 490
C.P = x
Loss = 2 %
S.P = x - (2/100)x
(21/20)x - 490 = x - (1/50)x
(21/20)x + (49/50)x = 490
[ (105+98)/100 ] x = 490
x = 49000/203
x = 241.37
----------------------------------------
Hence the cost price of the Radio set is ₹ 241.37

Hence the cost price of the Radio set is ₹ 241.37
