Questioñ:

A man sells sofa for ₹3210 making for profit of 7% .What would have been his profit per cent if he had sold it for ₹3360.

Solutioñ:

Given:

  • Selling price(sp) =3210

  • profit% ( P%)=7

Need to find

  • Cost price ,

CP=SP×100/(100+P%)

Substitute values we get,

⇒3210×100/(100+7)

⇒321000/107

⇒3000

We get,

CP=3000

SP=3360

Profit=SP-CP

⇒3360-3000

⇒ 360

Profit%=Profit/CP×100

⇒360/3000×100

⇒12%

Therefore,

The profit % is 12%
