His loss percent on the whole transaction=10%

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the selling price of each mobile.

Profit on one mobile phone=10%

Loss on second mobile phone=10%

Total S.P=x+x=2x

C.P=\frac{100}{100+proift(in\;percentage)}\time S.P

Using the formula

C.P of one phone=\frac{100}{100+10}\times x=\frac{100}{110}x=\frac{11}{10}x

C.P of second phone=\frac{100}{100-loss(in\;percentage)}\times 100=\frac{100}{100-10}\times x=\frac{10}{9}x

Total C.P=\frac{10}{11}x+\frac{10}{9}x=\frac{90x+110x}{90}=\frac{200}{90}x

Total C.P=\frac{20}{9}x

S.P<C.P

Because

2x<\frac{20}{9}x

Loss=C.P-S.P=\frac{20}{9}x-2x=\frac{20x-18x}{9}=\frac{2x}{9}

Loss%=\frac{loss}{C.P}\times 100

Using the formula

Therefore,Loss%=\frac{2x}{9\times \frac{20x}{9}}\times 100=10%

Hence,his loss percent on the whole transaction=10%
