Relative speed =280/9 m / sec = (280/9*18/5) kmph = 112 kmph.

Speed of goods train = (112 - 50) kmph = 62 kmph.

Answer:

25 km/hr

Explanation:

Rate of the travelling goods train = 50km/hr (Given)

Time taken by the goods train to travel opposite = 9sec (Given)

Length of the goods train = 187.5cm (Given)

Let the speed of the goods train be = x km/hr

Then, the relative speed = 187.5/9

Thus, using the equation -

= (50+x) × (5/18) = 187.5/9

On solving -

=  x = 25 km/hr

Hence, the speed of the train is 25 km/hr.
