A man sold 1/2 of his land. He gave 1/2 of the remaining portion to his son and 1/3 to his daughter. What fraction of his land is left with him now?

if the man gave 1/2 of the remaining to his son then only the other 1/2 would be left and how could he give 1/3 of it?

He had 1 land.
He sold 1/2 of land,so he is left with 1/2 of land now
Then he gave 1/2 of land (1/2) to his son, now he is left with 1/4 of land.
Then he gave 1/3 of land (1/4) to his daughter, at last he is left with 1/12 of land.
Basically the expression is like this
1*1/2*1/2*1/3=Amount of land he left with
