The remaining fraction of land left with him is 1/12 of land

Total land = Sold land + Son's Land + Daughter's Land + Man's remaining land.

As the son and daughter gets the 1/2 portion of land only, then

1 = 1/2 + 1/2(1/2) + 1/2(1/3) + x

1 = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/6 + x

1 = 6+3+2 / 12 + x

x = 1 - (11/12)

x = 1/12 of land.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The remaining fraction of land left with him is 1/12 of land

Total land = Sold land + Son's Land + Daughter's Land + Man's remaining land.

As the son and daughter gets the 1/2 portion of land only, then

1 = 1/2 + 1/2(1/2) + 1/2(1/3) + x

1 = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/6 + x

1 = 6+3+2 / 12 + x

x = 1 - (11/12)

x = 1/12 of land.
