to gain 20%
s.p = a + 20/100 ×a
10 × 5 = a + a/5
50=6/5 × a
a = 250/6
as original price of 10 eggs is 250/6
so the man purchased 5 eggs for 250/6 ÷2
= 20.8 Rs

man sold 10 eggs for Rs.5
original price of 10 egg is 'a'
he gained 20%
so,
a + (a x (20/100)) = 5
a + 0.2a = 5
1.2a = 5
a = 5 / 1.2
a = 4.167
price for 10 egg is Rd.4.167
no of eggs for Rs. 1 is (10/4.167) = 2.4
no. of eggs for Rs.5 is = 2.4 x 5 = 12
