SP = Rs. 375

if gain = 25%
gain% = (SP-CP)/CP * 100
⇒ 25 = (375-CP)/CP * 100
⇒ 25/100 = (375-CP)/CP
⇒ 0.25CP = 375 - CP
⇒ 0.25CP + CP = 375
⇒ CP = 375/1.25 = Rs. 300

if loss = 25%
loss% = (CP-SP)/CP * 100
⇒ 25 = (CP-375)/CP * 100
⇒ 25/100 = (CP-375)/CP
⇒ 0.25CP = CP - 375
⇒ CP - 0.25 CP = 375
⇒ CP = 375/0.75 = Rs. 500

Total CP = 300+500 = 800
Total SP = 375+375 = 750

loss = 800- 750 = Rs. 50
loss% = loss/CP * 100 = 50/750 * 100 = 6.67%

Solution:-

 Given that man gained 25% on 1st article i.e, 93.75 rupees. And also he loses 25% i,e. 93.75% on 2nd article.

    Now the total gain of the both transactions is 0 rupees as 25% gain and the same loss would be zero.

Therefore gain or loss is zero and gain or loss percent is 0%.

Thank you!
