Let x be the cost of the trousers and y the cost of shirt.

Form the two equations:

1.25x + 1.1y = 1520 -------- [ 1 ]

1.1x + 1.25y = 1535 -------- [ 2 ].

[ 1 ] x 1.1 → 1.375x + 1.21y = 1672 ------------------- [ 3 ]

[2] x 1.25 → 1.375x + 1.5625y = 1918.75 -------- [ 4 ]

.

[ 4 ] - [ 3 ] → 0.3525y = 246.75

y = Rs 700

.

Sub y = 700 into [ 1 ] →1.25x + 1.1(700) = 1520

x = Rs 750

.

Answer: A trousers costs Rs 750 and a shirt costs Rs 700.
