Given :

  • A man sold dslr camera for ₹40000 . he spent ₹1200 on his warranty extension . he sold a camera at such price that he receive a gain of ₹3600.

To Find :

  • Selling Price of the camera.
  • Gain% of the camera.

Solution :

Firstly we will find the total selling price of the camera after that we will find the cost price of the camera. Now after getting the cost price of the camera we will find the gain% .

Finding the total selling price of the camera :

  • Total selling price = selling price + warranty extension
  • Total selling price = ₹ (40000 + 1200)
  • Total selling price = ₹ 41200

Finding the cost price of the camera :

  • Cost Price = Selling Price - Gain
  • Cost Price = ₹ (41200 - 3600)
  • Cost Price = ₹ 37600

Finding the Gain% on the camera :

  • Gain% = Gain/Cost Price × 100
  • Gain% = 3600/37600 × 100
  • Gain% = 3600/376
  • Gain% = 9.5%

Therefore :

  • Total selling price of the camera is 41200
  • Gain% on the camera is 9.5%
