SP = 405

he lost 1/10th of CP that means he sold it for 9/10 price of CP

Let CP be x

9/10 of x = 405

x = 4050/9

x = 450

CP is 450


Loss = CP - SP = 450 - 405 = 45

Loss% = Loss / CP x 100

Loss = 45 / 450 x 100

Loss = 10%
