a man sold his scooter at a profit of 10% had he purchased it for 5% less and sold for rupees 56 more he could have gained 25% for how much did he buy it​

Let the C.P. of the table be Rs. x.

Then, S.P. of the table at 20% profit=100120×Rs.x=Rs56x

C.P. of the table at 10% loss =10090×Rs.x=Rs109x

S.P. of the table at 35% profit now=100135×Rs109x

Then according to the question

 56x+105=100135×109x

⇒56x+105=200243x

⇒200243x−56x=105

⇒(200243−240)x=105

⇒x=3105×200=Rs.7000.
