SP of first article = Rs 375

Gain % = 25%

Let the CP of the article be Rs x.

25 =  \frac{375 - x}{x}  \times 100
 \frac{375 - x}{x}  =  \frac{25}{100}  =  \frac{1}{4}
so,
x=300 (by solving above)

∴ CP of first article = Rs 300

SP of second article = Rs 375

Loss % = 25%

Let the CP of the second article be Rs y.

25 =  \frac{y - 375}{y}  \times 100

 \frac{y - 375}{y}  =  \frac{25}{100}  =  \frac{1}{4}
so,
y=500 (by solving above)

then,

∴ CP of second article = Rs 500

∴ Combined CP of 2 articles = 300 + 500 = Rs 800

Combined SP of 2 articles = 375 + 375 = Rs 750

As CP > SP, this is a case of loss.

loss\% =  \frac{cp - sp}{cp}  \times 100
 =  \frac{800 - 750}{800}  \times 100

loss%=6.25%

hope this help u buddy

step 1  ( first article)
S.P. of a article = 375
gain%              = 25
C.P. of a article = [100 / (100+gain %)]  x S.P
                        = (100 / 125) x 375
                        = 100 x 3
                        = 300
S.P. of next article = 375
loss %                   = 25
C.P.                       = [100 / (100-loss%) ] x sp
                             = (100 / 75) x 375
                             = 100 x 5
                             = 500
Step 2
S.P. of both the articles = 375 + 375 = 750
C.P of both the articles = 300 + 500 = 800
         c p > s p
so, it is loss
         loss = 50
loss % = (loss / c p ) x 100
           = (50 / 800) x 100
            = 6.25% of loss
